Board of Directors
The Board of Directors (BOD) at Renaissance School has the responsibility to ensure that the School’s mission is carried out through the best use of the School’s resources. The BOD is responsible for decisions on School policy, planning, and finance.
Rachel Galbraith
Board of Directors, Chair
Rachel Galbraith serves as the Chair of the Renaissance School Board of Directors. Rachel has a B.A. from Wellesley College and a J.D. from Fordham Law School. Two of Rachel’s children are Renaissance School graduates. One daughter graduated from Renaissance in 2005, going on to graduate from Dartmouth College. Another daughter graduated in 2009 and is currently attending USC. Rachel and her family have been instrumental in providing the School its beautiful historic building on Court Square. Their vital support helps Renaissance School to fully realize its educational mission of nurturing expansive young thinkers for the 21st Century.
Carol-Ann Paget-Brown
Prior to becoming a board member, Carol-Ann Paget-Brown, the mother of six children, was an active home school parent. She has an interest in educational opportunities that challenge individual students and encourage their talents. Over the last two decades she has been showing and breeding performance horses from her farm in Albemarle County. Her other interests include soccer coaching and volunteering in the community. Her eldest son graduates from Renaissance School in 2010 and will attend High Point University in the Honors program. One of her younger daughters also attends Renaissance School. As a Renaissance School Board member she “looks forward to the many challenges and opportunities we have to make a positive difference in the lives of the students.”
Suzanna Bryan
Suzanna Bryan is a multimedia artist whose work has been shown in various galleries along the East Coast. Her downtown studio/gallery is located on Market Street steps away from Renaissance School. She has a B.A. from UNC Chapel Hill and brings to the BOD a dedication to the School’s progress and a commitment to keeping the arts vital and central. Her son is an accomplished musician who graduates from Renaissance School in 2010 and will attend Berklee College of Music.
