Leadership
At
Renaissance, students are inspired to take on leadership roles both in their School and in the larger Charlottesville community. Daily assembly periods include announcements from students about their volunteer activities or community events as this provides an excellent chance to recruit help from each other. Simply put, you’ll find a lot of natural leaders here.
Student Government
Each September, students who choose may run for office to participate in Student Government (SGA). The SGA includes a representative from each class as well as a Student Body President. Candidates for each office campaign for votes and make speeches to the entire school community, which in turn votes in a school-wide election. The SGA has an important role at Renaissance, serving as a liaison between the student body and the School Executive Committee. It’s their job to help prioritize student initiatives and work to implement student events. To read the latest “SGA Update”, click on the link at the lower right of every page on this site.
